Finding Yourself

A decade or two in the past many young people dropped out of high school or college, quit jobs, stayed at home or traveled instead of doing something useful. They said they were trying to find themselves. No one can truly find themselves until they find themselves in Jesus Christ. An insult that was thrown around was Why don*t you get a life. No one can have life outside of Christ like they can in Him. Most individuals look for life in all the wrong places. Even some who have received Christ sometimes look for it in the wrong places. Sometimes I look for it in the wrong places. But He is patiently teaching me that life is in Him and in following Him.

Colossians 3:14: If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. 2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. 3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. 4 When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.

Mark 8:34-35: And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. 35 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel*s, the same shall save it.

1 John 5:11-12: And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.

John 10:10: The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

Romans 6:4: Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

Galatians 2:20: I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

1 John 3:14: We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death.

Ephesians 2:1: And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;

Matthew 6:33: But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Have you found yourself in Christ and following Him or are you still wandering around in deadness?
